Location: Birmingham (Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office)

About the Role
We’re working with a forward-thinking, values-driven law firm to help them hire a Housing Litigation Solicitor to join their well-established team.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a varied caseload of housing litigation matters in a collaborative, high-energy environment, where colleagues genuinely support one another and cover caseloads when needed. You’ll report to a partner in the housing litigation team and work closely with colleagues across Birmingham and Manchester offices.
The successful candidate will need solid technical experience in housing litigation, ideally having handled both possession and disrepair matters, as well as the ability or potential to mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a mixed housing litigation caseload including:
- Possession proceedings
- Disrepair claims
- Tenancy enforcement
- Injunctions and tenancy management issues
- Represent clients in court, primarily across the Midlands region
- Provide high-quality legal advice and client care in line with the firm’s standards
- Support and mentor junior team members when required
- Collaborate with the wider team, sharing knowledge and case support
- Maintain accurate records, time recording, and case progression updates
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, client service excellence, and team support
Key Skills and Experience
- Qualified solicitor (NQ – 4 years PQE) with experience in housing litigation
- Confident managing a diverse caseload, ideally with both disrepair and possession experience
- Willingness to travel to courts across the Midlands
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues is highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a high-performing, team-oriented environment
